The Scythemens participated in most of the battles of the Ko\u015bciuszko Uprising, including the Battle of Rac\u0142awice. After this battle, the scythes became one of the symbols of the struggle for independence and the self-identification of the peasants with the nation. The Scythemens also took a significant part in the uprisings of 1830 and 1863-1864 (1865).   <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">A t-shirt dedicated to the events of 1863-1864. Fighters against tyranny, fighters for independence &#8211; the best example of what Belarusians should be.
