One, two, SING! — a music game for the company

About the game

One, two, SING! turns a gathering of friends into an easy singing competition. Players open the cards and try to be the first to remember the song that matches the task. To play, you don’t need to sing well or know music notation: the author relies on mood, quick reaction, and the joy of singing together.

How is the game going?

There are two types of cards in the deck. Word cards have a word written on them that should be used in the song text in any appropriate form. Category cards set a broader theme—for example, color. The deck is shuffled and placed in the center of the table. Participants take turns opening the tasks, singing the appropriate fragments, and collecting the cards they win. The winner is the one who collects the most.

The rules offer three game modes. It’s best to start with the first, easiest, and then move on to other modes.

For whom?

The game is well suited for parties, family gatherings, language companies, and people who love music. The party can involve 2 to 10 people, so the format works for both a small gathering and a large company. The Belarusian and English versions of the tasks allow people with different language experience to play together.

The cards quickly evoke memories of familiar songs and provide a reason to pick each other up, argue about options, and discover new music. The blank cards can be filled with words related to a specific company, holiday, or favorite artists.

Equipment

80 cards, 5 of which are left blank: you can write your own words on them and make the game even more personal.
